The Big Question: what should be done about child soldiers?

Welcome to the WebQuest

“What Should Be Done About Child Soldiers?”
To help you answer this question, you will go on a WebQuest with your class—an Internet-based adventure.  You will take on the roles of various groups who deal with child soldiers in their work, or whose lives are affected by them.  These groups include human rights activists, mental health professionals, military advisors, family court judges, children, and parents. You and your class will work together to develop a set of policies that a government might adopt to address this important issue.  At the end of the WebQuest, you’ll find many ways that you can use your new knowledge to act on the issue of child soldiers.

Your WebQuest will consist of the following steps
Step 1: Setting Age Limits

Step 2: Exploring Children’s Human Rights

Step 3: Choosing A Country

Step 4: Researching Why Child Soldiers Are Used

Step 5: Developing A Policy

Step 6: Conducting a Legislative Assembly

Step 7: Taking Action
